After migrating data from a failing drive and "successfully" authenticating Outlook 2010 Trying to access server sent up repeated stand-up-man "Windows Security" credentials popups, with the correct log-in name but false password. Entering correct password and checking "remember password" has no effect. The popup simply returns in an ongoing game of popup whack-a-mole.
Assuming this was a residual effect of a damaged program, I reinstalled Outlook, so the popups now prevent me from connecting to the Exchange 2007 server. this same server is accessible with the same credentials from two laptops and a second desktop.
Before the fresh install the status bar reported "need" password.
Have tried:
.clearing credentials vault of aLl outlook related entries
. resetting password
. reentering A record
. deleting profile and creating new profiles, several times
. removing several office updates suspected of causing the problem
. hours on phone with Sherweb tech support (they are terrific but understandably perplexed)
. verified all account / profile entries repeatedly.
I am at a dead end and hoping someone here has a better idea than I can find. I cannot access bios on a new board, but date and time are set correctly in Windows (in re SSL certificate).
I am beginning to suspect the issue might be related to the (infuriating) authentication process.
Other probably non pertinent information: Windows 7 Home Premium, new ASUS mb, 1Tb Seagate drive, 8gb ram. office 2003 installation also re authenticated.
Thanks for anything you might think up.
