We're running GM6.5 (dBase) and QuickBooks 2006 and trying to set up GM Plus for Accounting to Synch the two.

After a disasterous first attempt at Synchronization, I'm "starting over" by deleting all GM records and experimenting with various Synch settings to create a new Synched GM customer file.

I looked in our GM\Common dir and saw that the 3 ContHist files (DBF, DBT and MDX) are still pretty big - DBT is over 12 MB.

When I view these files in Notepad, there is a lot of text in each.

I ran the Global Delete Wizard again just to be sure and it reported "0" records deleted.

Is this normal? Or did I do something wrong?

Also, is there a way to run these test Synchronizations on just a few records so I can see the results quickly?

Thanks in advance.

Stop. Don't open your database files in notepad.

Dont stress too much that they're over 12 MB's. That's tiny. I have clients with 100 times that much in the history file.

If it continues t bother you, you can do a database maintenance with the pack and rebuild option checked and they should shrink.
