Can anyone help me? The contents of the sysvol folder has gone and a message is displayed saying the files no longer exist? everything from the >>SYSVOL\(domainserver) ffolder has disappeared..any ideas?
Files in sysvol don't delete themselves. Someone (either an admin who made a mistake or a hacker) had to have deleted them.
Do you have a system state backup? If not, you are out of luck except for the default domain and default domain controllers policies. They can be put back with dcgpofix.
The reply I am getting is "c:\windows\Sysvol\sysvol\<domain name> refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a harddrive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure the disk is properly inserted or that you are connected to the internet.".
I know this is not because of a hardware issue as this message is on two new servers I added. If i type in NET SHARE at the command promt, I see sysvol but do not see a netlogon share. I can ping the FQDN of all servers from all servers and I can see these 2 new servers in AD Sites and services etc etc.
