Hello everyone,
Some of my web site maintenance contracts are really nice to have, but they are taking an unproportionate amount of my time. I think I'll finally take the time to learn some of the content management servers out there.

Where is a good place to start?

I guess I should let you know what I'm looking for:

1. Mid - high performance management solution for a city consumer-based web site
a. Multiple people will be making changes
b. Customer logon's should give them a customized environment
2. Low - end (easy to learn) for my company web site and other small business administration issues.
a. I usually have to make updates to the quote of the day, post articles, and other minimal updates
b. I'm the only person making changes
c. One site structure will be available to everyone - no user customization is required

Hopefully the easy solution can be learned in one weekend and the other program within a week. If there is a big learning curve, maybe I'll think of other routes to pursue.

Thanks. Sopht Solutions

Postnuke baby.

There will be a learning curve with any CMS. I thought Postnuke would take a couple of days to get but I "got" it after a few hours.

There is also PHPnuke and ezpublish. For a commercial (paid) solution, there is Macromedia's Contribute.

PHPX is really good too... It's GPLed and easily themeable, has polls, galery, and forum built in.

I'm going to meet with her next week. So I will be able to configure these programs and then upload them to my hosting company (an outsourced solution)? Sopht Solutions

by the way, I'm not going to learning any of them until I get confirmation she wants to do it. Then some interns and I will work together to find the best product.

Thanks, Sopht Solutions
