I'm making up a small site for my games business, and thought I'd use the links from my suppliers to the publishers of the games they supply. However there are quite a few of them and was wondering how much is too much. Realistically, there are only a few that I really need, which may have resources like Game rules/downloads. The rest I thought I'd put on there because I can get a hold of their games and someone may want more info on them, and that it's a link, if someone's looking for it, they may come across my site.

What are your thoughts on this? So far I have 57 links, probably end up with about 70...

The right number is the number that will be of use to your visitors. If there are 70 links which they will find useful, that's the right number. Remember two things though:

If you've got 70 links on a page, you're gonna have to organise it somehow, so it's easy to find what you're looking for without trawling through the whole list.

Don't limit your links to a links page. If there's a site with particular relevance to one game, and that game has it's own page on your site, put the link on the game's page as well as/instead of the links page. Making life easiest for your visitors will pay off for you too.

Thanks for the info. For now, I should probably keep the links relvant to the games I know and have instore, as I know what's on them, etc. A lot of the other sites are fairly obscure, then as I delve further into other games, add those links etc. That way I can organise as I find out what games are what.

As a general rule for my sites, I try to not go over 25 outboud links for a regular page and no more than 50 outbound for my directories. Again, thats just or me but those are my limits I try to stick to but as Chris said, if each fits then you can display them all or maybe split them across two pages.
