Container not expanding 1

It looks close right in IE 7 where the two black boxes are contained within the gray box. (the spacing is below where it should be). In FF the spacing is correct but the gray box isn't expanding to contain the black boxes. Does anyone have any tips. Thanks.

Either add a style of "clear:both" to the BR right after the L+R cols, or better still, use the "clearfix" fix found on the "Easy clearing" page of "Position Is Everything" (search on Google for the URL).

Note: It also looks bad in Safari, and presumably any non-IE browser.
