I've installed ContactStore CSCM-7_8sp1_16patch78165 on a separate server from VM Pro. Everything works fine, except that every time the ContactStore polls the VRL location it sucks in another copy of the recording. I did one test recording and had hundreds of copies of the identical recording in ContactStore. I have the SHARE set to FULL CONTROL permissions.

Is ContactStore supposed to delete the file out of the VRL directory after it copies it?

Why on a different server?
And yes it should be possible to pull the file and delete it.
It can also leave it on the shared folder.

The entire environment is virtualized, so seperating it made for cleaner backup and archiving schema. Since this was a supported configuration, it was chosen. Are you thinking that is part of the issue?

As for the share, it is possible to manually delete the files. However, ContactStore is NOT deleting them. Should it? Just trying to figure out why it keeps importing the file over and over.

It is a setting and this should work.
I was just curious why :)

I was able to resolve this. The installation manual indicates giving full permission to the foloder, but it turned out that providing full permissions on the share is not enough. Because the ContactStore service is running under it's own credentials, it can not delete the files in the Shared Folder from the Voicemail Pro Server. Thus it continually polls the folder and imports the file over and over again.

To resolve, you must also give full permission at the NTFS file level on the Voicemail Pro Server. I couldn't figure out how to set the credentials under which ContactStore will run though, so it was necessary to open the VRL folder up wide. Not a huge risk in this installation's case, as the files only exist for a brief second, between creation and import deletion.

That is a nice explanation.
I did the same on our server edition.
Nobody knows that there is a share and it if already empty as Xima pulls the recordings straight away

Also...just for reference. When setting ContactStore up on a seperate server running "64bit" windows...the registry entry for the share is slightly different than the one listed in the install guide. USE "Wow6432Node":

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Network Alchemy\Voicemail\Directories]
