Contacts VANISHED from server?!

I just had a user call and tell me that half the contacts stored in one of our public folders vanished into thin air, not sure when it happened OR HOW, any ideas on how to get to the bottom of this? 01110000

Are you running any virus scanning on the server?

Yup, all sig files up to date also 01110000

I think what vesendak may have been getting at is that if you have antivirus software on the server and it is scanning the M: then this can cause random problems similar to this.

I havent had it happen myself (always set to exclude) but have seen it posted on here plenty of times.

May be something to consider.

It only scans incomping/outgoing realtime and manual scans of mailboxes and folders, Not M.

I'm going to tape now to get back the lost contacts now, Although im still clueless as to what happened. The permissions list on this folder is very small and there was no rhyme or reason as to which contacts got deleted, alpahabetical, date of add etc .. WTF? 01110000
