In my Outlook 2000, I have a contact folder
call Media. I have about 259 names in the folder.

When I go to create a new distribution list, however,
only the name I originally typed in shows on the
left side to ADD.

The other 258 names (which were imported) do not show.

I had originally imported them into my Contacts folder.
From there I could make a Distribution List.

Once I copy them, however, I cannot.

I'm not really sure why you are having this problem, but it sounds like it could be a sync problem...

Is the folder you are copying the contacts into set to sync up with the Exchange server? If not, set it that way by right-clicking the folder and selecting Properties; then click the Sychronization tab and set the 'When offline and online' option. Then perforn a full sync (press F9) and see if you can access the additional names.

Hope this has helped...
