I have set up a group in outlook express comtaining 88 members. The contacts were set up directly into the group but not added to the address book.
On exporting my address book from my lap top to desk top pc, the contacts in the group do not export unless they are also in the main address book.
Is there a way of adding contacts in groups to the main address book?
Or is there a way I can export these group members?
HELP!!

Short of time, so haven't looked at this in depth, but wondered if the following from the Help files (Groups/Moving)might provide the answer ...

To move a contact or a group

In the Address Book contact list, select the name of the contact or group that you want to move.

Drag the contact or group from the list on the right to the group or folder you want it in on the left.

Notes
Contacts dragged to a group are added to the group, leaving duplicates behind in the original folder, but a group or a contact dragged to a folder is moved.

If you cannot see the Shared Contacts folder on the left, point to the View menu and select Folders and Groups.

Subfolders cannot be moved within an identity's folder list.

Hope it does ...

Sorry, that doesn't solve the problem.
When I select the group only 2 names appear (those 2 are in the address book) but when I double click to bring up the group properties there are 88 coontacts. Only the 2 which are also in the address book are prominent the others are shaded.
The problem lies in the fact, which I didn't realise at the time, that I created the contacts directly into the group and not into the address book.
I hope this makes more sense.
Thanks for your input so far,
Terry

This should do it for you, though as far as I can see you'll have to repeat for each member indivdually...

Open your group folder, click select members, R click on a name, click on properties and you then should have the option of adding to your address book.

Good luck ...

Thanks, that will solve the problem. Rather long winded, though. I will have to ensure that any new group members are entered in the address book first.
