First time i have installed this,,

when i start the web browser up i get this below... i know the database is not started but cannot find were it is to start it

its already started so i stopped it then restared it.. no change

to the pc the contact store and manager and vm pro is on

you should be connecting to either the name or IP and then :8888 to get to it.

i am .. think the database is not running.. whats SAPWD

Check to see if mssql$contactstore service is running

Well there you go. You are missing the database service.

just remove MSDE2000Feature then reinstalled then rebooted the server.. still cant see the software

You have to remove and reinstall contact store. You may want to dload the free sql 2005 express. A much better database.

Umm but it won't work...

Do you have any other database servers on that machine? If you have a SQL 2005 server running - that may well be your issue.

Yes it will work. It is running on two of my lab servers. SQL server 2005 express is the database for CCC and Contact Store and Conference Center. Each has its own instance. When migrating from MSDE you have to upgrade each separately. Sorry but it works very well.
