Contact managment/E-Mail

I need a reccomendation for a contact management /E-Mail system for the new windows 2000 server just installed, we were using outlook and microsoft mail to handle the shred contacts and internal/external email. trhe system simply isnt working well enough. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated

I am very interested in suggestions for this too! We are using ACT, but something causes the software to open 17 pipes at once for each client. This can cause high server load when you get 30 people on a given server at the same time...

GoldMine 5.0 is a good recommendation, our company heavaly relies on Goldmine for a contact management and it can be intergrated very easily within Outlook 2000.
