I use Sidekick 98. I would like to delete all of the contact logs in one specific cardfile. How would I go about doing this? Is it possible? There are about 2200 cards in the file. I want to keep the cardfile itself, just delete the contact logs, but leave the index fields/cards.

Thanks.

Dear Sakittay,
The best way to do that would be to Export the Cardfile as an
ASCII Tab-Delimited Text(*.txt) File and then re-import it.
The way to go is as follows:

In Sidekick98 Go to File|Export Cardfile
Then click on Next
Browse to the cardfile that you wish to export e.g. ADDRESSBOOK.SKCard
Then click on Next
Go with the default:
ASCII Tab-Delimited Text(*.txt)
Add All the fields to the
Fields to Export box in the following dialog.
Then click on Finish and the Cardfile is exported.
Now say No to exporting another Cardfile.

The return journey goes like this:

From Sidekick98
Go to:
File|Import Cardfile
Click on Next
Choose Import From Other File
and Browse for the
Source File Name
Choose the File you exported earlier which in my case is now called:
ADDRESSBOOK.txt
Next
then
Rename it in the Target file name so that it will not overwrite the original which in my case would mean that I change it to ADDRESSBOOK1.SKCard
Next
Now add all the fields to the
Fields to Import box and click on Finish
Choose No you do not want to import another Cardfile
Now go to File|Open Cardfile
Look for the cardfile you just renamed and if you open it you will find that there is nothing in any of the ContactLogs.
Once you are satisfied that you the Cardfile is intact you can press F12 and
Save As it over the original one if you wish
Voila!
