contact history

have just moved my boss to a new PC and being on exchange all her emails were there waiting for her. her local software was Outlook 2003 and is now Outlook 2007.

she never used contacts she used to use the history (auto complete) now i have gone onto the old box and copied the 'outlook.Nk2' file and pasted it into the same location on the new server... i was lead to beleive this would do the trick (yes i rebooted after pasting) but it doesnt.

anyone help?

Did you turn the option on?

1. From the Tools menu, select Options...
2. On the Options dialog, click the Preferences tab.
3. Click the Email Options button
4. Click the Advanced Email Options... button
5. Uncheck Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields
6. Click the OK button 3 times.

Thanks 58Sniper for the input but i managed to fix it...

if anyone else is suffering the same problem here is wat you need to do...

to save the list of address' that you have used (the history) or (Auto complete) you need to search for a file called *.NK2

offten this file is called outlook.NK2 but i beleive it can also incorporate the account name too.

it is located in

C:\documents and settings\*user*\application settings\outlook
(some of these are hidden)

copy it from there to the same location on the new machine. restart outlook and next time you start typing an email address the auto complete will bring up your list of last used.
