how do I set up a ringdown for a contact for opening a door???

I have recently set this up for a client. I used a co trunk board. The cable coming from door went into the co trunk board i.e port 1. I then sent the calls for that trunk to a reception console, she takes the call and presses #4 to release the door lock. This is what the manufacturer of the door lock required for the door to open.

You could also setup a 'hotline' on an analog station.

On the second page of an analog station, create a spped dial list, and put a member and list as the destination. Add a phone number to the speed dial list, and you're all set.

(Oh, and turn off hookswitch flash. Each time you pick up the station, it should dial, and each time you hangup, it should disconnect.)

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
