contact closure

hi guys.
i have a customer who has a door strike that won't operate
i put a tester across common and normal open , when i press button on phone (closure 1) i get a short but only for a miili second not the 3 seconds its programmed for , also tried toggle setting same thing, i ASSUMED it was the controler and ordered one , after leaving i thougt about the contact closure on tha acs itself , my question is: can i test the closure jack on the acs the same way with continuity tester

No, because the jack on the ACS processor is at TTL levels. It does not provide any contact closures itself, but provides signal voltages to drive the relay circuit in the contact closure module.

so you think i am right about the controller unit ?

You might try another unit, and see if it works. It could also be the port on the ACS processor.

back again,
i replaced the adjunct and the same thing, milli second closure,
reseated acs , same thing
i noticed that the door phone led is blinking all the time but i thought the door phone and closure were two separete things ?
