Can someone please give me an example of when and what scenario you would use contact closure ports.

You use a Contact Closure Adjunct, which plugs into the contact closure port on the ACS. The Adjunct gives you 2 sets of contacts. You program buttons on phones with buttons to operate the individual contacts, and set them for 1-second on, 3-seconds on, 5-seconds on, or toggle.

You wire them up to the start button on your Keurig coffee maker, set it up the night before, and press the contact closure button when you get up in the morning.

Or, you wire it to another relay to operate the door strike on a door, or trigger a gate opener.
