I am having a problem with the contact centre reporting!

The Live reports are working the ipview is working but if I want to do some reporting on say the last week it is coming up with an SQL report error!

The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) Get Online Help

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

I have ran the RCC Install Verification Utility and all is well.

Two possibilities:
1) The Reporting Services service is not running
2) Sounds like Reporting Services wasn't installed correctly...

One way to fix the 2nd possibility is to:
1) Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > Reporting Services Configuration
2) Sign in, and on the left, select the "Database Setup" item
3) On the right hand side, click the "New..." button
4) A window will open. Leave the default values and click OK

The Report Server databases should be recreated.

Hi Mate,
The reporting service is running and if I run the Install Verification Utillity it comes up with all green ticks.

The live reporting is working and if I look in the sql reporting software all seems good.
I need to report on the calls we have had in the last month so dont really want to create a new DB.

any other ideas to help please

Thanks

I have solved it

some dodo had renamed the pc that the DB and report server was sat on!

I re named it back and hey presto all good again

Cheers for your help anyway!
