We are rolling out new PC's to all agents. To test the new PC configurations we are running tests on the operation of desktop agent. Avaya told us to install the AES Client and Desktop Agent. Installed everything and copied profile from existing working agent. We have a test agent ID that is used and we substituted that in the profile we copied over. When launching the agent we get:

Error type: (PX Fatal )
Time: 4/9/2007 6:27:28 PM
Error number: -5
Error text: No Telephony Server
Additional text: The Telephony Server set by Agent Administrator cannot be found. This may be because the server has gone down or network problems are preventing communication with it. Your Telephony Services user name and/or password may also be incorrect. Please contact your system administrator.

Where is this problem stemming from?

Each extension has to be loaded in the T-server under "Devices". This also includes VDNs that are being monitored. Also, the DN must match the user profile under the MY DN value or you will experience additional problems.

TheCardMan,

firstly check if you have correctly installed aes client. use ts test application found in tsapi client folder. run it and see if it successfully finds cti server string -- if it'll say "no telephony servers found", you got it. edit tslib.ini and place correct ct server ip address there and check again. i think you have the basic problem there, not something too complicated. if there's correct ip address but ts test still doesn't connect to ct server, check firewall settings between client and server. try issuing "telnet ct.server.ip.address 450" to see if it connects or not.
