Good Morning,

We have Contact Center 6.0 Server in production and would like to get a warm server to back up the CC6.0 server in the even of the main server crash. My question is that do we have to purchase the CC6.0 license for the warm server from Nortel? Please let me know if this is correct. My vendor quoted me that I have to purchase the license for the warm server and it is around $10K.

Thanks for your help.

The CC6 Warmserver, Replication Server, is a licence option. On top of the warm server you will also need a replication server. With this solutionyou can loose a maximum of 15 minutes of data.

If you dont have a busy call centre you may want to go for a cool server.

I have an identical server, IP addresses, Server name etc, that I keep OFF the network. At regular intervals I restore a copy of the live database onto it. Then if there is a problem I swap the cables and restart the server.

Not 100% but it gets you back and running quick and its a lot cheaper.

Hi

As a installation and support engineer i can say that not only is this the cheapest option it is also the best i have seen many times where the replication server locks up the data base on the live and standy by server.

hope this helps
