What would be the cause of the following problem: When I attempt to draw an object, such as a rectangle or circle, it is always constrained making a perfect circle or square. It's as if the SHIFT key is pressed, but I know for a fact that it is not. Is there a setting or preference somewhere that would change this? Your help is appreciated.

Hello,
First close PageMaker.
You need to rebuild the preferences.
On a PC locate the Pagemaker folder and open.
Open the RSRC folder.
Open the usenglsh folder.
Locate the following icons:
pm65.cnf
pm65ppd.cnf
pm65filt.cnf
pstyles
Right click and delete them.
On the Mac.
Locate the Pagemaker folder and open
Locate and remove the pm65ppd, pm65filt, and pstyles
Then go to the system folder and locate the preference folder
Open it and locate the adobe Pagemaker pref and remove it.
Close any open folders and relaunch Pagemaker.
Good luck!

Thanks for the help on this situation. I'll try it and see if it works.
