I'm running corp edition on a small LAN. One workstation (win2000SP4) is infested.
Full scan finds nothing, auto protect finds and deletes "infoseek" in a symantec temp file, over and over again, it will also find "Trojan.vundo" and ask for a reboot. the removal tool for the trojan from symantec website has no effect, when I go into the registry none of the keys listed in the manual removal list for either infoseek or vundo exist. I ran AVG, Avast, and webroot, All found and removed various nasties but none found these two.

some software on this system is proprietary and would require factory reps to come in and reinstall it, it took them 3 weeks the last time, so I would prefer not having to wipe the system out.

I looked that virus up. It appears that this is not a virus at all, but spyware. You can try two different programs first: "Spybot Search and Destroy" and "Ad-Aware". These programs are free and sometimes do the trick. If not, there is another program out there that does a really good job at spyware/adware removal called "eTrust Pestpatrol". It costs about 20 bucks with free updates/upgrades for one year and it does the best job that I have ever seen. It runs in the background and updates itself whenever needed. Yeah, don't use antivirus programs to remove adware. They won't work (but you probably already know that). Be careful what type of "spyware remover" you use. If you look them up in Google, you will end up downloading more adware (even though they tell you that they get rid of it). Give this a shot. I use all of these programs at home. I highly recommend them!
