Constant Values not loaded into key fields

On an inbound 850 Purchase Order, I have established a key of "Sender-ID, Purpose Code (BEG01), Purchase Order Number (BEG03), and

Purchase Order Release (BEG04)" - I have set these fields as Constant Values and added them to every file in the application. Problem: not all files, or records within files are being loaded with these constant values.

I have been able to ascertain the answer to this, and some other "unique" situations in Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN 2.0 - feel free to leave questions here, and I will attempt to be of assistance.
