Hi there,

Do you know if it's possible, when executing a report, to have a parameter drop down constantly visible either on the report screen or in adjacent frame?

The out-the-box mentality is to select your values then run the report, and if you want to refresh the parameter values, you have to navigate back and rerun the report.

What we need to do is have the option to change the parameters there while you're viewing the report, so you can report on the fly, as it were...

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi,
Do not go back from the viewer..Use the 'Refresh' icon of the viewer ( NOT the browser refresh), and you should be reprompted for the parameters ( assuming it was published with that option checked)..

Post your software and version.

You should consider changing viewers to Active-X, you can do so using the preferences within Crystal Enterprise. It's more robust, pops a seperate Active-X window without browser controls.

The Admin can globally change the default viewer (depends on version) and users can each change their own preferences. Later versions have an icon that looks like a slice of cheese in the right upper corner, I think earlier versions defaulted to a labeled button.

Cheers guys. These are both things I can look into using to get closer to what I'm after.

Funny thing with Turk's suggestion though, is that when I use the video buttons to go forward or backward in the report, it keeps prompting me for parameter values whenever it encounters a subreport going forward, and just all the time for each page going backwards...
