constant dot on screen

Hi,

I have this constant small red dot just off the centre of my TFT LCD monitor. Any idea what it is or how I can get rid of it?

It's a dead pixel. Most LCD manufacturers will not let you return the screen unless a certain amount of them are dead. Usually not just one. If you possible paid for an additional "Product Gurarantee" at a local store that might entitle you to return it. Call who you bought it from and see what their policy is. To confirm that it's a problem with the LCD screen (which is what it sounds like), try hooking an external monitor up to the laptop and see if the red dot is still there. Chances are that it won't be... ~cdogg

I agree to some extent. Sometimes, it is helpful to post in more than one forum. Not everyone looks at the same ones.

However, I do agree that the compromise would be to wait to see if you get a response before posting in multiple forums. ~cdogg
