Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help.... on my new computer I use XP but for some reason there is a small red dot just off the centre of the screen. I don't know where it came from and I can't get rid of it. It's there all the time in everything I do???

Is it an LCD screen? If so, it sounds like a pixel has dropped. That would be hardware, not software fault.

It's a TFT LCD monitor - so imagine it is what you said a dropped pixel. Is this something I can fix or not?

No, it will be one of three individual capacitors that are in EACH pixel on the screen, so they are VERY tiny.
Is it brand new?
Actually, even if it is, most manufacturers have a minimum number of pixels that have to fail before you can return it.

Yes it is new. I will find out what their returns policy is.

Many thanks for your help!
