On an average night of working, I get disconnected about every 15-20 minutes from my wireless network. As well, every so often I get completed disconnected, then when I go into the network list, my wireless network doesn't appear. It reapears after a few minutes.

I work from home a lot so getting constantly disconnected is causing data loss and a huge headache. I have seen the TKs on how to disable Windows xp service, but then I can't have any browsing of wireless networks at all.

I had an old Microsoft router (when I had the same problem) but have since upgraded to a D LInk Xtreme G Dl-624 router, but it stil constantly disconnects.

Can you detect other wireless networks on your card?

Have you taken your laptop to another location that has wireless to see if your connection is solid there?

Are you encrypted or open?

Yes, I definitely see other networks when I scan. I have been able to successfully log into other wireless networks and don't believe I get the same disconnects that I experience (but those networks are all open). Mine is encrypted at 128, my previous network was encrypted at 64.

1st how far away is your wireless router away from your laptop?? same room??
second you need to carry out a scan on the other networks you see to check what channels they are using you could find that all of you are set to ch 6 which will cause loss of network like you are saying down load netstumbler it will tell you

once you have found out the above info, delete all other connections if you have made of others wireless's. manually set up and insure u are not on same channel o/c hide the ssid if capable on the router..
