Never having needed to do the following, so I'm asking here before diving into it.
I have a multi-site SCN, 5x IPO 500v2s with an APPS Server at HQ for VM Pro. Each site has it's own extension numbering, 22xx, 23xx, 24xx, etc... The 22xx scheme is HQ/main/VMPro/ASBCE location.
Most locations have IP Endpoints with SIP and/or PRI trunks, with all locations shifting to 100% SIP trunks. Two of the SCN sites have 5 or less digital phones, and after porting the POTS lines to SIP, I'm wanting to shuffle those two smaller site's extensions to the main system at HQ, and swap their handsets out for IP phones. This is due to the ICR directing calls across the SCN to a VMPro AA, causing incoming calls to eat up 2+ VCM channels and 2 Voice Networking channels per call. This would also simplify management of those smaller location's extensions.
My actual question:
Assuming licensing is available, can I remove an SCN site, and then recreate those extensions in the HQ system? I'd like to remove the 24xx system, add that site's SIP trunk to the main location (22xx system), and recreate the 24xx extensions on the 22xx system, and then deploy the 24xx extensions as IP Endpoints at the existing 24xx location.
This is partially due to current Voice Networking Channel License limits, but also (hopefully) stepping in the right direction to migrate all systems to Server Edition in the next year or two, with Primary being @ HQ, and Secondary being at our DR location (23xx extensions. I will have to keep a couple of the IPO Chassis' for now. (currently main site has 12x Analog ports feeding a fax server, and one other site has 4x Analog ports doing the same thing for actual fax machines)
Thoughts?
