For reasons not worth explaining, we are trying to do away with one of our domains, so we'll be moving 300-400 users from one domain into another one. Both are 2003 domains.

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some tools to get this done. Tools for transferring user accounts on the servers and also for transferring local profiles. Other tools and even recommendations for best practices would be appreciated.

The users have file shares and some mapped drives and printers. Nothing too complex.

I second the recommendation for ADMT. You can also use it to move the computers and can use it to keep SID history and move passwords.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Any recommendations for migrating a user profile? (on the users local machine)
