**NOTE: I have posted this to the Novell NetWare 5 Forum as there is no forum for ConsoleOne.

Novell 5 network
ConsoleOne 1.33 with GroupWise snapins

I am getting the following errors in ConsoleOne when selecting the main Organizational Unit:

Snapin Error (Error 0x8809) An attempt to send on the selected transport failed (Close) (Details)

The details only indicate it is an internal error that should be reported to Novell.

If I close this dialogue box I get the next error:

Snapin Error (Error -307) The program tried to get data from an empty buffer. This is an internal program error. (Close) (Details). Details are the same as indicated above. Close brings me back to where I started.

I am able to acces the GroupWise system in ConsoleOne so I am using NWAdmin for any NDS changes (up to adding them to the GroupWise post office) then using ConsoleOne for the GroupWise piece.

I have reported these problems to Novell but I have not had a response as yet. Also, I have searched the Novell knowledgebase with no luck (and done a general Web search as well, but so far no luck in finding anything).

If anyone can shed light on this really annoying and inconvenient problem I would be very grateful. Thank you.

What Support Pack are you running on your server? Is it NetWare 5.0 or 5.1? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

I bet this is a TCPIP communications issue. Have you configured TCPIP correctly on this Server? Make sure that your Subnet Mask and Default Gateway are correct! Also, how about SLP? Is it configured on this Server?

Good Luck!

There are two other users who have ConsoleOne and are connected to the same server. They are not experiencing the problems I am. In addition, I have uninstalled and totally blown away ConsoleOne 1.3.3 and reinstalled. I am still getting the buffer error. It's really annoying!!

WHy don't you try logging onto one of the other users PC's and see if you still get the error? -----------------------------------------------------

It looks like we may have found a solution to the problem. We are reconfiguring the network to pure IP and this problem was a result of being "in transition". The post office server was not speaking nicely to my home server and this was causing a delay in connection. It seems to have improved not that the network admin has done some more tweaking of the system.

Thanks to those who responded.

AHH HA!!! I thought it sounded like a communications issue!!!!

I'm glad to hear that you have taken care of the issue!

Good Luck!
