I am unable to get an ok prompt no matter what I try..

I have an RSC installed, and functioning, but console gives me nothing. If I connect a serial cable & null modem to SerialA and to my laptop in hyperterm or CRT I get nada responce back.

Solaris 9, using the correct COM port on my laptop and 8n1-9600. I know I am using the correct COM because when I switch over to the RSC's serial link it comes right up, so its SerialA on the server that is simply not doing what I need.

Looking for direction..

The solution ended up simple.

Within the RSC - bootmode -u reset_nvram

The nvram was just boogered up.

what kinda server is this.. i believe that on some servers u will need to change some jumper settings to be able to get a serial link.. this is the case on sunblades.. maybe someone else can chime in..
