One of my sites has too many lines for available buttons on console telephone. I relabeled all of the lines looking for a line with problems. Now operator says cannot retrieve a call for a line that has no button.

"After putting call on hold, I am able to retrieve it by picking up the receiver then pressing 'feature' then pressing the 'pickup' function then entering the line number and viola the person comes back."

Other than purchasing a phone with more buttons, any way around this ??

Thanks, Bob

It is time to go to the QCC option.

I hate it, but when you have more lines than you can display on your console, QCC is the answer.

Are all of these lines NEEDED on the console?

That's the first question I ask before I go to QCC MODE.

I really don't like the QCC option either. It just isn't customer friendly. If you direct all the calls to the LDN, you have no options to back out or to go to an AA. I prefer to set up a DLC in a Calling group, send the calls to the calling group and use the calling group features instead of the qcc features. Although you can't really have calling priorities with a calling group, you at least have options to go to a VM AA or Vm box or a support group.

I do it the same way as Jinxs. Set it up with the calling group and plenty of call appearences (Sys-Acc-00's) and Park zones.
Your operator will be transfering calls, telling everyone to pick up 881 and on (Park zones) rather than 801 and on (Trunks).

I am not sure myself if all are needed at console. Since I am managing all of these systems remotely, I cannot figure out a better way to test if lines are functional other than asking the attendant to pick them all and see if she has tone.

I did read a post here where you dial #00, craftxx, and then some other stuff to select the individual trunk. Could I do this remotely?

Only if you have remote access set up.

The question for the operator would be "Do you receive calls on all of these lines?"

I have more than one system, mostly using 2-Way D-I-D where the operator has no lines at all.

I find that a lot of the "older" systems were programmed with all lines on the console, although not all were incoming, that the console had to route.

Also, if the Auto Attendant does all the answering, that might impact the design.
