I have installed the SMS Console for a client. However, for some reason he cannot connect to the database. I have examined everything I can think of to try to determine why he can't connect. Does anyone have an idea what would prevent connection? He does not have Net Firewall on. Checked that first.

That was my first thought after the firewall as well. However, this same user has a WIN2K box that I installed the Console on and he can connect without a problem. It really seems to be the actual connection to the database on his XP machine. I'm very unclear how SMS connects to the database so I'm not sure what to look at.

I found the answer with the help of a technician through our support contract with HP. I needed to run dcomcnfg at the DOS prompt and make sure it was Enabled. As soon as this was done we could connect without further problem. Since then I have found another machine with the same issue.
