Console output on remote terminal 1

I am trying to fix a router remotely. I want to see the debug messsages on the remote router. say e.g #debug ppp on
My problem is that no error or debug output comes on my telnet terminal. However, the on console the output comes properly.I am accesing the remoter router like telnet <ipaddressof remote router>.
How to see debug messages on telnet terminal?
