I am trying to run ConsoleOne from a workstation using a mapped drive. I am running the consoleone executable that resides on the server. The splash screen appears and it takes almost 15 minutes for ConsoleOne to load. Once it finally loads, everything runs at normal speed.

ConsoleOne loads almost instantaneously from the server console.

Web based management tools are very fast from the workstation and there is no noticable delay with any other mapped drive operations.
The workstation is a P4, 1.8Ghz with 256MB running Win98SE and the latest NW client.

Any idea why it takes ConsoleOne such a long time to load on the workstation? I have a WinXP client workstation that loads ConsoleOne very quickly.

Hi,

ConsoleOne always runs slow when trying to launch it from the serever. Try copying the whole ConsoleOne directory to your workstation and launch it from there. You should see a big improvement. There is only one flaw with this approach. Everytime you patch the server or update the ConsoleOne directory in any way, you will need to recopy it back down to your workstation.

P.S. I have read multiple documents where Novell recommends running it from a workstation.

Thanks for the tip, I copied ConsoleOne to the workstation and everything is fine now.
