console keeps on hanging

I have a cs1000s rls 4.5 with 2 consoles, they are the pc based ones called smyle,
the problem im having is that one of the console keeps on hanging all the time,
i have to reconfigure it and works fine then after few days it hangs again,

what could be the problem,

We had a PC based console at one of our sites that kept locking up too, resulting in repeated reboots, 1 to 2 times a day. The first improvement we had was to install a second PC for the operator to do her day to day stuff on, email etc. This way it is only used as a console. The second and biggest improvement was to rip it out and give her a M2250. Probelm solved!

If the PCs are identical and one always works, just Ghost it and write that image to the other.

pc smile consoles are well named.. you will smile when you take it out and use 3905's..

if the only app they are used for and they are booted at the end of each shift, you can keep them from locking up.. in your case i would swap the users, see if the problem stays with the user or the console

we had one operator that always had problems with her 3905 console when she worked the late shift.. she no longer works here and the problems went away

If its not software related try changing the CIU's over see if the problem moves

Have you changed the CIU's over as suggested as your previous post suggests you have another one..If the problem moves then you have a faulty CIU

Have you tried the reboot option as mentioned above? Or swapping the connections between the PC's? Let us know what the results of doing those things were.

i have swapped the ciu's and the problem is the same meaning the cius work for some days and then go dead,

Sorry if this sounds gruff but it is time to call in a vendor to look at these. Could be a multitude of things like incorrect power wiring, defective card, emi etc.

You started out saying that only one console had the problem and now on the last post I read it as all the consoles are having the same problem. Did the trouble follow the ciu that moved or do they both really have the problem?

Basically your troubleshooting should have already narrowed it down. If the trouble moved with the CIU then replace the CIU. If the trouble stayed with the same user then I would suspect the DLC or the cabling.

A little off topic: posting "guys i need a solution" is not a good thing in my view. This is a free resource and for me anyways if you are going to basically demand something I am basically going to demand payment.
