Console into Bay 450 Switch

Using hyperterminal I can no longer console into some of my Bay 450 switches. I know I have hyperterminal setup correctly as I still have access to some switches. I just get a blank screen in Hyperterm and nothing happens when I hit any keys on the keyboard. Anyone any ideas??

If you can log on to most of your switches, that would suggest there is something wrong with the switches that you cannot log on to. I guess you have tried rebooting them. Try a cold start as well if you havent already.

if you can telnet into the ones you cannot hyperterm into, you can check the serial console port specs

I hate Hyper terminal. We have seen several problems with it. And this looks like one of them. Use another terminal emulator, like Tera term, it's old, but good:

I have also experienced defect console ports on some BPS switches.

hi guys,

need your help on baystack 450.i having a MLT problem. for your info i got 4 baystack cascading each other with 2 link, i configure it using mlt and sametime i also got spinning tree running on the switch. my problem is..my link cannot be attach together,all terminal will hang, but when i take out 1 link..everything fine...is it cause from the spinning tree loop or ....need ur all advises....
