Console Fault with IP

I have a problem where an IP Console and its PC doesnt boot up. But if I use an IP phone in its place, the phone gets the correct IP address from voice VLAN and so does the PC getting its IP from the Data VLAN. Any Ideas anybody ? 3300 Doing DHCP for Voice VLAN and Cisco Router for Data VLAN.
 
Is it that computer "won't boot up" as in no signs of life or is it that it cannot get an IP address?

Verify the ip's and ping them to see if something is already living there.
 
I would try making the port a Voice VLAN port only. The IP console should get an IP address then. The PC can also get a Voice VLAN IP address if you have routing to the Data VLAN set up.

The other option would be to set up the Data DHCP server to statically assign an IP address for the IP console with voice VLAN options.

Thanks for the response paterson. Im liking the idea of statically assigning the data dhcp with voice vlan option. Am I correct in assuming that this needs the routing from data vlan to voice vlan ?
 
Data VLAN and Voice VLAN need to be able to route to each other. The IP console needs DHCP options that are specific to the Mitel product. DHCP Options 128-130 were the old options and will still work, but the new option is 125. The help files or Mitel 3300 Tech Handbook will show how to program these options correctly.
