Maybe not the right forum for this question, but I have six routers, and they've been mounted so that they face forward, which means the console ports are to the back (they're older 2600's) I want to use some Cat5 cabling and use a RJ45 patch panel on the front of the rack to plug in my laptop with a console cable. Yes, I know this is overkill. Can I do a straight through cabling for this like I do for all my other lan connections? I'm using the 568B standard. Will this work?
