Hi,

We have to decide between using Lotus Notes Domino 6.5 (which is an upgrade from Lotus Notes 4.6a with Lotus Notes 6.5 clients or go to Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook 2003 clients. The conversion costs to Outlook are high because we will need a third party to convert from Lotus Notes e-mail files to the one big Outlook e-mail file with all the e-mail files within it. Basically, the hardware and software costs to go either way are the same. That said, which would you choose and why?

Thanks,

bkessler

I clearly wouldn't consider notes. As a 4.6 organization, you're already intimately familiar with what passes for logic at IBM. For the rest of the group, I searched around until I found an archive of the iarchitect web site. You're probably aware the noats 4.6 attained special status in the User Interface Hall of Shame. For everyone else, here you go:

If you wish to import the server based NSF files into Exchange, then the tools are free and come with the product. If you wish to convert client side NSF files to client side PST files, then you'll need a third party utility. Check the Exchange forums for more details.
