We are trying to migrate web applications (ASP.Net) from an old windows 2000 server to a windows 2008 server. Some of these applications use connector in 16bit form but when we install the software we get unable to connect errors, very vague error message. I've looked extensively on the Net and cannot find any help/guidance on whether a 32bit or 64bit version of connector is available. We currently use Ellipse 5.2.3.4. Has anyone had success with using connector on a windows 2008 platform? Any help much appreciated.

Hello,

We have developed applications utilising the Ellipse mimsx.dll however most times the limitation is the Ellipse (CICS) middle-ware not being compatible. I have installed this onto 2003 R2 x64 before but not 2008. I don't believe there are any 64 bit versions available, especially for Ellipse v5.
Have you made any progress?
Drew

Hi Drew,

Thanks for the response!

No progress as yet, it is in the 'to hard' basket at the moment.

I'd be happy to install a 32bit version, so you successfully installed on a 2003 server!

Where did you get the 32bit version from?

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm sorry I am only aware of a 32 bit version being current, although I guess it is now not supported or close to not being supported by Ventyx.

Drew

We got a more recent version running on windows 2008 R2, but mimsx is still 32 bit. If running with Office (excel) you will need the 32 bit version , or it wont work.
You could ask Ventyx for a more recent middleware, and it may work ..
