We have a laptop that will occasionally stall when booting when they are connected to the network (wired or through docking station). Does not happen if they are disconnected from the network.

Also, the laptop loose it’s connection to the network every day in the afternoon. It will not refresh the connection and we have to turn the computer off for an extended period of time before we can turn it on and regain connection again.

Could the wireless card be bad? He has no issues with his login on other computers. There is not group policy for that computer that is different from other computers.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Try this for your first issue and see if it helps:
Go to Network Places/Properties/Ethernet Adapter connection /properties
Un-check "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" > OK
reboot
Recheck if you need this feature.
This should help it boot faster when connected to the network.
