Connectivity between servers

We have an instance of MSDE on one machine and SQL Server enterprise on another. In order to administer MSDE, i would like to use Enterprise manager.

I am able to ping the server using ip address and computer name - I have the sa password and I receive the error that the computer is unable to connect.

Yes, by default MSDE installs with only Windows Authentication enabled.
