We have several servers with NAT IPs provided by FW-1. I'd like to be able to connect to them from the internet using VNC and the public (NAT) address. It doesn't work. I tried coding an entry for TCP port 5500, which VNC host listens on, but that didn't help. Anyone have experience with VNC in this setting? Y. Doky - "Manager" of Systems

VNC uses tcp 5900, which is already in the list of services on Firewall-1.

On your version maybe - I'm stuck with version 3.0. So I added a TCP entry named VNC and assigned it port 5900 and put it in the Service column of the row with the target server and I still can't VNC into it using it's NATted public address. Y. Doky - "Manager" of Systems

Do other ports work to that address? Is the service being dropped by the firewall? Is the VNC server installed correctly?

By the way, you might want to consider upgrading from version 3.0!

I'd also like to consider sprouting wings and a rocket engine, but since my agency has furloughed every employee one day per pay period to meet payroll, I think we're stuck with what we have. I'd appreciate assistance with what I have, not what I need. thanks! Y. Doky - "Manager" of Systems
