Connection to cisco device

Hello

I had receiving message when I tried to connect to cisco 3550 throught Cisco view :
timeout on 172.20.100...
Probable Cause
Possibility due to lack of connectivity to the host
invalid community string or busy device.
Recomended action
Verify the connectivity to thr host
and the community string. Try increasing timeout value through the preference options.

Hi!

That happens often.
try checking if the device has :

has snmp protocol enabled.
community strings are right
packages for device are installed

finally, ping it.
