Connection to an Aspect Communication Real time server

I'm hoping somebody has some experiance working with Aspect Communication software. I'm trying to connect to our real time server which pulls agent stats while they are actively working on the phones. There are 3 things I am looking for. 1) I am puzzled on how to connect to the server through VB. 2) I am looking to pull an agent idle state. 3) I am looking to pull the amount of time an agent is in that idle state. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
