I have the possibility to connect to a public internet access point. The signal is very weak so I consider to set up an outdoor antenna and connect it to a newly ordered USB WLAN adapter which has Tx/Rx power of 500mW.

I also consider to set up Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing to be able to connect more than one PC to the public access point. Is it possible to put 2 wireless network cards into the computer and use one card to pick up the signal from the public access point, and forward the signal to the other one?

As an alternative I can set up the Internet Connection Sharing with one wireless card and one ethernet card and connect a router like DI-624 to the ethernet card.

I have a DWL-2100AP (Wireless Access Point, 802.11g) and I hope(d) to use this as a signal amplifier, but I find it hard to set up to suit my needs. Do you have some ideas?
