Hi,

I dont claim to be able to write java script in anyway and wont try and bluff my way through this... but im after some help please!!

I would like a way to display a network connections status in a browser. For example on xp if you right click on a connection and go to status and click on the support tab, you are presented with a wealth of info. I would like ip address of pc, default gateway, whether obtained by dhcp. Also would it be possible to ping a website (like google) and show the results in a browser?

Any help would be very greatfully received!!

To do this client-side, you'd probably have to use ActiveX, which would restrict you to IE-only (so not good for internet sites, but OK if you're on an IE-only intranet).

You could get the IP address server-side very easily (ask in the forum for whatever server-side scripting your web-server supports - ASP, JSP, etc), but not the other details, as they'd be local to the computer.

Hope this helps,
Dan
