my computer connects to the internet at 46kbps, so why is it that my highest ever download speed is 4kb. if its running at 46kb? shouldnt the speed be around there?
Connection speed is measured in bits while download speed is measured in bytes. Allowing for rounding errors, framing bits and the fact that the theoretical maximum download speed is around 87% of the connect speed, 4kB is about right.
