Connection Server not starting

After a reboot , both the connection server and the Web intelligence report server failed to restart with the following message

"The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

CMS and all other servers are fine, and there is nothing in the event log. Any suggestions?

PS this is Business objects Enterprise XI Release 2

What additional error messages ( if any) are in the Event Viewer Application log..

no other messages whatsoever, tried to restart the machine, the services still didn't start (same error)

From the CCM, delete and recreate those servers and see it it helps..
